Queer Merced - A local gay blog

So I was perusing the Secretary of State’s donor list for Proposition 8 and this kind of jumped out at me.  The Subway in the Merced Mall donated $2,500 to the Yes on 8 campaign.  I love Subway and I know a lot of them are franchised, so I can’t hold Subway as a whole responsible, but I sure can hold the idiot who owns Merced Mall’s Subway accountable.  I am posting this with hopes that every self-respecting GLBT Merced resident, UC Merced student, and No on 8 supporter absolutely not spend their money at this particular Subway.  It’s bad enough to vote for discrimination it’s quite another to support hate and discrimination monetarily.  We need to hold the individuals and businessess accountable who stood against our community and stood against equality for all Americans by supporting Proposition 8.

I saw this really cute commercial about water conservation from the City of Merced today and I thought I’d pass it along the informational page from the official city website:

The newest viruses circulating is the UPS- and now FedEx- Delivery Failure. You will receive an email from UPS Packet Service along with a packet number.

NOTE:  The word packet is mis-spelled on this line. It will say that they were un-able to deliver a package sent to you on such and such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached.

DON’T TRY TO PRINT THIS.  IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS! UPS AND FEDEX DON’T USE ATTATCHMENTS IN THIS MANNER.

Pass this warning on to all your PC operators at work and home. This virus has caused Millions of dollars in damage in the past few days.

After winning a gold medal, Australian diver Matthew Mitcham’s interview was conveniently not aired, ANWYWHERE.  I think the little bottom is a super cute!  I watched the dive that won him the gold and let me tell you, it was fantastic!
